The 03-02 parcel was the most expensive lot in Shenzhen —next to the world’s largest Exposition and Convention Center in Shenzhen, North of Shenzhen International Airport. The parcel is jointly owned by two prominent developers in Shenzhen who organized a competition to receive proposals which would innovate the mall+office typology.
Designed a permeable public space providing a new immersive experience every month. Areas can be zoned as “Made in Shenzhen” for local creators or thematically for a VR/AR convention. This will provide residents a glimpse of the showcase within the convention center and bring innovative content to the public spaces. Office, retail, culture, entertainment, education and ecology are all elements that intertwine within this new prototype.
Developed a modular structure for retail space around anchor concept stores. These transformative and flexible retail units act as pop-ups and welcome the newest local entrepreneurs, designers and innovators of Shenzhen. Large brands also test launch products within the modules.
