Junior Architect / Urban Designer

As we continue to expand our footprint in the Middle East and emerging markets, we are setting-up a physical office in Beirut, and are thus seeking a dynamic Junior Architect / Urban Designer to join our multidisciplinary studio and be part of a global team of designers and urban thinkers who combine storytelling, spatial design, and emerging technologies.

Role Overview

The role is ideal for candidates with strong visual communication skills, a deep interest in urbanism, and curiosity about the intersection of design, technology, and culture. A strong grasp of conceptual thinking, technical drawing, and AI-driven tools is a must.

Responsibilities

1. Design & Concept Development

  • Support the creation of design narratives, diagrams, and compelling visual storytelling
  • Contribute to the development of masterplans and architectural proposals
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, project reports, and communication materials

2. Visualization & Modelling

  • Develop sketches, drawings, 3D models, and rendered visuals
  • Utilize AI tools and visual plugins to support early-stage concept development
  • Participate in short video-making and post-production efforts when needed

3. Collaboration & Research

  • Work closely with team members across time zones and disciplines
  • Conduct urban, site, and design precedent research
  • Participate in internal design charrettes and knowledge-sharing sessions

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Architecture, Landscape or Urban Design
  • 1-3 years of relevant design experience
  • Fluency in 3D modelling on Rhino (Grasshopper a plus) and 2D drafting on AutoCAD
  • Mastery of diagrams and visual storytelling using Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Sensibility to graphics and presentation on PowerPoint and InDesign
  • Familiarity with rendering software such as Lumion, Vray or similar
  • Experience with AI visualization tools such as Midjourney
  • Competence and precision in data sets on Excel
  • Experience in video editing tools such as After Effects or Premiere Pro is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, French and Arabic
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong enthusiasm for research, learning, and continuous growth

Engagement Manager

As we expand and mature our presence in the Middle East, and establish a foothold in emerging markets, we seek a dynamic Engagement Manager based in Beirut or Dubai to drive business development, manage client relationships and a portfolio of projects.

Role Overview

We see immense promise in terms of business opportunities and symbiosis between existing and new markets. To address this potential and cater to our existing clients, we are looking for an experienced engagement manager eager to tackle exciting and purposeful new opportunities, and create real impact through urban innovation.

This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of business development, project execution, and stakeholder management in the Middle East and namely Africa. The ideal candidate must be highly proactive and adaptable, capable of working collaboratively in complex and fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Strategic Leadership

  • Client & Partner Engagement: Maintain and build relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and key stakeholders to ensure long-term collaboration.
  • Market Expansion: Identify, develop, and cultivate new business opportunities across the Middle East and Africa.
  • Negotiation & Project Initiation: Conduct contract negotiations in terms of objectives, scope, and terms, working closely with project managers and consortium partners.
  • Proposal & Bid Development: Oversee Tekuma’s Commercial Lead, in the submission and preparation of commercial proposals.

2. Project & Portfolio Management

  • Project Leadership: Oversee Tekuma’s Program Lead, mentoring and ensuring the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify risks early and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Engage with key public and private sector stakeholders, ensuring alignment and project success.

3. Team Building & Management

  • Local Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage a client-facing team in Dubai, and activate the local showroom and office.
  • Global Collaboration: Leverage Tekuma’s global resources and expertise for regional success.

4. Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Thought Leadership: Act as an ambassador for Tekuma, engaging in public speaking, conferences, and high-profile workshops. Support articles, research, and other thought leadership activities to enhance industry credibility.

Qualifications

  • Relevant MBA, urban planning, engineering, or real estate degree.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a top-tier consulting firm or a similar strategic role.
  • Experience in urban development, real estate, infrastructure, or related industries in the Middle-East and Africa, particularly in the management and delivery of multi-disciplinary planning projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling client presentations and reports.
  • Experience managing stakeholders, and ability to influence and manage senior-level leadership across public and private sectors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or other related planning software.
  • Fluency in Arabic, English and French.

Administrative Assistant

As we continue to expand our footprint in the Middle East and emerging markets, we are setting-up a physical office in Beirut, and are thus seeking a highly organized and proactive Executive/Administrative Assistant to provide part-time support to our leadership team and ensure smooth operations across our boutique urban design firm.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for a resourceful and detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys wearing many hats. As a Part-Time Executive/Administrative Assistant, you will be a key partner to our leadership team, supporting day-to-day operations, coordinating administrative processes, and helping the firm stay focused and effective as we pursue our mission of reshaping urban innovation.

We are looking for someone who is adaptable, self-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively with a small, dynamic team.

We expect for the workload to be minimal at first, and grow as the office itself scales and new team members are added. While the position is part-time, we see a future where the position will become full-time.

Responsibilities

1. Executive & Administrative Support

  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements for the leadership team.
  • Prepare, scan and organize documents and mail correspondence.
  • Contribute to improving administrative workflows and operational efficiency.

2. Project & Portfolio Management

  • Maintain organized digital filing systems and administrative records.
  • Support invoicing, expense reporting, and other basic financial administration tasks.
  • Liaise with vendors, partners, and service providers as needed.
  • Help coordinate virtual and in-person meetings, events, workshops, and team activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, management, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in an executive assistant, administrative, or operations role (experience in design, consulting, or creative industries is a plus).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic (French a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with digital collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Notion, Asana, or similar) preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Self-starter mindset with a problem-solving approach and ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote setting.
